Go-Around Method – Ideation and Brainstorming Tool

Go-Around Method is used in Creative Clinic workshop – read more about it here to learn more about this interesting method how to make a workshop more successful!

Go-Around Method is used during Creative Clinic Step 7 in Creative Steps 2.0 model (read more about Creative Clinic here). This method means that invited field experts offer guidance to student groups. They spend time (30 mins) with each of the groups and try to see the problem from clients´ perspective – that’s the best way how they can give valuable feedback to all 4 Creative Teams.

So how exactly does this process work? All 4 sparrers make a round moving from table to another within the given time. Each student group is at one table, they pitch first their own idea after which they get comments from the sparrer, answer to his questions and simply discuss the case with him. When sparring time ends, experts switch tables and move to next student group´s table. Space has as many tables as there are sparrers = 4.

The main goal of this method is to get new perspectives for the development work of every team´s idea from a field experts. Besides doing your group work among your team it is also good to have outside perspective for working. Field experts can offer perspective from their own area of know-how.
